About Grow

Grow began as a response to the deep hole in conventional thought that says,
“The right career path will just hit me.  I’m going to suddenly realize, if I pay attention to the universe, what my calling, purpose or path needs to be.”

If you are .1% of the population, then the above is absolutely true.

Grow was founded for the remaining 99.9%.

Now, some folks don’t really question what they are “meant to do.”  Others ponder the conundrum daily.  For way too many years of my life, I fit into the daily ponderer category, practically obsessing over finding the right answer, wondering if I’d ever figure it out.  Each year I felt more and more at sea, increasingly frustrated by my inability to steer my own ship.

Finally, something did hit me, but it wasn't the aforementioned career path epiphany.

I had stopped by a coffee shop, following an hour of yoga-induced enlightenment, to order my usual:  a decaf soy sugar-free vanilla no whip cappuccino.  While waiting for the barrista to create my semi-neurotic concoction, I perused the crowded bulletin board for something remotely interesting.  A flyer, sandwiched in between ads for pet sitting, non-smoking roommates and sky diving instruction, caught my eye.  It announced a seminar for career design.

Career "design," I mused.  Sounded interesting.

On a whim I attended the seminar, taught by a career coach (I'd never heard of one before!) and felt, for the first time, a glimmer of hope that I just might find some career answers by, gulp, asking for help.

With career coaching, I learned the value of asking myself effective, razor sharp questions about my past experiences, interests and values.   Along with results from a sophisticated aptitude assessment and how they relate to career patterns, I began steering my ship in the perfect direction:  my own.

That seminar presenter, best-selling author and career guru Anthony Spadafore, eventually became my mentor.  After years of training and certification, I embarked on creating my own career guidance practice.

I have indeed found my true calling:  helping others find theirs.

And now I invite you to come along, and embark on a course that is truly your own.
